ATLA:
zuko is taken prisoner by hakoda's ship after floating out to sea, mid-season one. they take a liking to him, as he quickly goes from prisoner, to crew, to son.
after a distressed call in the middle of the night, iron takes in zuko and learns just how bad of a parent his brother has been. zuko learns how to bake, amongst other things. (modern au)
zuko has five soulmarks, five soulmates who visit him throughout his life. when he meets the gaang, everything sort of starts falling into place.
BATMAN:
tim is hypnotized to obey every command given to him, but weeks pass and none of his family members realize anything is wrong.
jason rescues dick after he'd been kidnapped and tortured for months, no one else realizing he'd been missing. traumatized, they help each other heal.
jason turns down bruce's offer to come over for christmas and gets kidnapped by the joker instead. he just misses his dad.
tim and jason get trapped in a time-locked panic room because damian thinks they need to work out their differences. they both need to focus on staying alive until the door unlocks itself.
bruce hits damian, so tim becomes his new guardian. the whole family eventually starts pitching in. (wip)
damian catches tim's attempt at suicide and tries talking him down.
it starts with steph's college lecture on batman, bruce wayne, and correlation vs causation. it all goes downhill from there, but they get it on video. (series)
bruce makes a plan to finally reveal his identity to the team, at a company picnic. however, the league seems pissed that (1) clark brought his bf, bruce wayne, as a plus one and (2) batman didn't even show up.
bruce dies and leaves dick in charge of the family. he can't keep doing this as is, he can't be batman. he needs to tell wally his identity.
tim "falls" from the roof of wayne enterprises. jason helps him get back to normal. (series)
BNHA:
bakugou has had face-blindness ever since he was a little kid, but this is the first time it ever actually mattered. he'd never had real friends before. (canon retelling)
bakugou and yaoyorozu switch bodies and don't tell anyone. unfortunately, the stakes raise and they may die before they catch the villain to swap them back. they do a lot of soul searching in the meantime, though.
kirishima and ashido are deadset on finding bakugou's secret admirer. bakugou thinks it's kirishima.
bakugou, shinsou, and tokoyami are assigned to be villains for the class final exams. they go above and beyond, specifically out of spite. and they may or may not become friends along the way.
the bakusquad have owned a restaurant together for years, but none of them seem to realize that kirishima's mysterious, romantic husband is actually bakugou.
kirishima starts receiving periodic love notes at his desk. it doesn't take him long to realize it's bakugou. the rest of the class though, they're in for a surprise.
kirishima gets injured while on a patrol with midoriya. bakugou panics. they don't have a lot of time.
JATP:
like orpheus and eurydice, alex must walk out of the hollywood ghost club and not look back in order to free willie's soul. no matter how much he screams.
THE UNTAMED:
on sizhui's birthday night hunt, he starts seeing ghosts. luckily, that just so happens to be the wen power they need to open a haunted tomb to save a cursed soul.
sizhui and jin ling find out they're related while attending summer camp and devise a scheme with the other juniors to get lan wangji and wei wuxian back together. a parent trap adjacent au.
wei wuxian gets turned into a child while watching the juniors' night hunt, and it takes a lot of energy and emotional turmoil to even imagine getting him back to normal.
wei wuxian cares deeply for his juniors, and he will adopt them all, don't test him. (n things)
nie huaisang gets bored easily and befriends sect leader yao for the hell of it. but it's almost like they're genuine friends at this point. (n things)
jin guangyao will do anything to get on his father's good side, but hurting huaisang is out of line. both jin guangyao and nie huaisang race to kill jin guangshang, though neither know about the other's plans.
xue yang, after years of trying to piece xiao xingchen's soul back together, kidnaps wei wuxian to do it for him. oddly enough, wei wuxian knows he's genuinely in love with him and actually does it.
they're back in the past, before the war, and everyone who'd died in it has full memory up until their deaths. and everyone wants this go around to work out for the better. quite literally, everyone.
jin ling, and by extension, the rest of the juniors, take up masked vigilantism to further help in small ways where their reach in politics can't.
jin guangyao is brought back to life in the body of a woman from a smaller sect. he still manages to fall for lan xichen a second time. surprisingly, they're both in it for the long haul.
